PTE Academic: The Computer-based English Tests

PTE Academic measures your English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in a single, short tests.

PTE stands for Pearson Tests of English Academic, a multi-level computer-based English language tests that determines a candidate’s reading, listening, writing, and speaking abilities.This tests is open to non-native English speakers who want to study abroad.

The two-hour computer-based tests focuses on everyday English rather than high-level English and assesses a student’s ability to understand the language as it is spoken on a daily basis. The system allows for a better grasp of the student’s English language proficiency.

TESTS FORMAT:

Part 1: Speaking & Writing

This part of the tests is 54–67 minutes long and it contains seven different question types. It is the longest section of the tests. You will be tested on your speaking and writing skills. This will also tests your vocabulary and grammar skills which is necessary in today’s world.

Part 2: Reading

This part of the tests is 29–30 minutes long and it contains five different question types.

Part 3: Listening

This part of the tests is 30–43 minutes long and it contains eight different question types. The questions are based on listening audios, which begin to play automatically.

Graduate Management Admission Tests (GMAT):

The Graduate Management Admission Tests is a computer adaptive tests (CAT) intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.

GMAT scores are used by nearly 2,400+ graduate management schools for 7700+ programs across 110+ countries throughout the world. The idea is to have a tests that measures skills acquired in (A) Verbal Reasoning and (B) Quantitative Ability, over a period of time.

  • • GMAT is a computer-based examination and is question-wise adaptable exam.
  • • The overall GMAT score is 800, which is equally divided in the Quantitative and Verbal sections.
